The day began with lauds and mass at the Poor Clare's monastery, about two walk down the lane nearby from the Villa's gate. We concelebrated mass with a local Franciscan priest who joined us for the celebration.

After breakfast, our first encounter with the Italian language classes. We had two lady teachers coming by to put us through our first trauma - a test! That was done to help them assess our grasp, or lack of, the language. I managed to plow through the 4 pages of exercises, cracking my head trying to remember what I had initially learned in my Basic Italian class a few months ago, back in Singapore. In the end I was streamed together with a batch that constituted Class 'A'. Whatever that means, I would know tomorrow as we begin our class proper! :-D
