After a week of MC I finally got down to business...
But the amount of business! Much to catch up on and suddenly I am fed with a deluge of pastoral and administrative problems that I can't help but feel utterly irritated. Having a 'fun' time dealing with them and wading through the processes of righting the situation without having to cough up blood myself along the way!
It doesn't help that there is this constant pounding of the piling works beside the church. My bedroom 'rocks' and 'trembles' in sychrony with each pounding outside and am finding extremely difficult to get a good rest during the afternoons.
The east districh parishes also began their penitential services this week. Went to Trinity for the first one this morning at 10.30 a.m. Will be back there for the night services at 7 and 9 p.m. later. Holy Family will have theirs on Thursday. This week, then, is going to a journey with the penitents and to possess a lot of patience and understanding for their foibles and to also note that we as priests are not necessarily any different from them. Mea culpa!

Take care Father, you've got a busy week ahead!! Don't let work stress you out. Whenever I am inundated with work, I always remember the phrase "Be still, and know that I am God."
