Journeys...
A rare moment on a week day where I can actually sit down on a midday and put some thought here. The week continues to be wet with the weather bringing the rain, drizzle and the cold wind that usually lasts the whole day.

The RCIA journey for the St Michael's group is almost coming to its conclusion towards their baptism. This group is now down to about 45 catechumens and there is a sense of joyful expectation amongst them as they anticipate their big day on the 23rd Nov 2003. They have come a long way and have weathered many storms of their lives and experiences. They have seen some of their members leaving and experienced one who had passed on to eternal life. For her she is now free from all need to be baptised and from the cares and challenges of this world. For her is now only in the presence of God. Before she passesd on, she was given the full Sacrament of Initiation and the Anointing of the Sick. Meanwhile, after the retreat last weekend, this group has already seen itself worthy to contiunue the last leg of their journey into the day of their baptism.

Next up is my session of Recommitment with the Catechists' Group. It is going to be a time where they have to make up their minds about their commitment in the catechesis of the children and what their role ought to be. This group seems rather fragmented and their sense of focus not quite there yet. So I have a long and rough road ahead.

Who says a priest life is boring?...
