World Conquered
Managed to find some time of quiet and reflection after all the rushing together with the comings and goings of parish living. It just signals that more of these will be there once my state changes to that of a deacon.
In 2 days time I will face the greatest challenge of my life in the cleric state that promises many things and yet highlights that the only thing needed is to be like Mary at the Jesus' feet which is the better part of 'doing' . Having heard all kinds of views and opinions from all quarters of this parish, I can't help feeling that there are many 'Martha' activities that need to be done in order to achieve the general good of the community here. Yet, wisdom tells us that 'Rome wasn't built in a day' and so, must proceed with prudence and some pastoral sensitivy.
Still the future is exciting enough and, while the work at hand is non-ending, the 'aha!' moments that come with all these are priceless and life changing. It's all in being positive and always hopeful with life even if the world says the opposite.
'...be courageous: I have conquered the world.' (John 16: 33)
