Interested In Doing A Good Deed?
Here's something useful you can do.

Ian Peterson is an ex-catechist at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour and is currently working with the Salvation Army as a counsellor. He has a way with teens and his work revolves around young people in schools. I think he is doing a great job with troubled teens and maybe you can lend a helping hand too. He's also a friend of mine and a fellow pilgrim on this life's journey that is strewn with crosses. Here is what he has to say about his current project which needs some help:

Hi all,
Shalom!

I've actually come to ask for your help and support for a project that I'm involved in. I've shared with you all about the numerous kids out there who come from low-income families, many of them don't even have the luxury of having proper meals each day due to the circumstances that their in. Often they are just the innocent victims of the vicious poverty cycle. Some of us social workers (many from Tanjong Pagar Family Service Centre) are actually organizing a BBQ party for about 50 or more of such kids just to give them the opportunity to have good food and some fun and games. It's a day to help them to forget their hunger pangs and to remind them that amidst their harsh realities, there are people who still care for them.

To make such a day possible, we really need to ask for your help in whatever way possible. Some may want to donate in a financial way (for food and transportation) while others may want to help as volunteers on that day. The details as of now are stated below:
Date: 6th September 2002
Time: 3-8 p.m.
Location: East Coast Park
