Walking With Angels

"So, what angels walked your path today?..."

An interesting question posed by a friend as her first greeting for the day. Interesting because I had totally forgotten about the presence of my guardian angel....

We do believe in angels and they do have their respective role to play in helping us to walk faithfully the path of Christ. Never mind if they are portrayed in a rather fashionable or frightening manner in tv and movies - think Angels in America (on HBO), City of Angels (soppy and utterly unsound, theologically speaking) and Constantine (hocus pocus spirituality and ridiculous angels) . They exist and can come in either good or bad form.

The question/greeting from my friend was timely as it reminded me of my own place in this world and what is at stake here. My lifestyle and schedule can sometimes become so much of a main priority that I forgot whose real company I should belong more and who is it that is working overtime to get me out of trouble. The spiritual reality of angels go far beyond any popular form and notion of what people's perceive them to be. I know I have my guardian angel and though I don't have a name for him/her yet but I DO know that my angel has been very, very patient with me so far... :)

This reminder also says to me that I am in and with rather good and powerful company that no money can buy! This membership is given freely. For that I am grateful.

So, which angel are you walking with today?...

I'm reminded of this prayer that my mum taught me looooong ago:

Angel of God, my Guardian Dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day (or night) be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

My Question today was : "Why are you searching for God". Strangely enough, never thought of motive, but just a search which I'm compelled to do....
