On Leave

This reflective scene of Charlie Brown and Snoopy captures the mood that I am feeling this evening in the eve of my 2-week leave as I prepare myself to take a long needed break from Holy Family and Singapore as I head back to see my family in Puchong.

I am looking forward to the days ahead where I practically do nothing significant but rest and relax! No phone calls to answer, demands to meet, homilies to do, responsibilities to carry out, etc. Just eat, sleep, play (with my nephews) and being a couch potato - watching Astro.

This luxury only comes but once a year and especially when I have to finish off the remaining days of the 30-day leave given to the clergy a year. However, the bane of the Mandarin language is never far away as I am called to help out at my relatives' place in Segamat for one Mandarin Mass this coming Sunday. I don't know how I am going to do it but I welcome the 'practice'.

Meanwhile all is set and by tomorrow 10.00 a.m. I shall be on the way to a setting of being 'Truly Asian'.

The skies wept bitterly - on behalf of the church - upon your departure. =p

Bon Voyage, Mompere~!
